Peaple Talent have partnered with one of the largest hedge-fund and investment management firms in the UK to find their first Network Engineering team member.

This engineer will be responsible for all aspects of Network Support throughout the business and will have the opportunity to build their own Networking team from scratch.

Our partner is looking for someone with in-depth industry experience as a Network Engineer, with a strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3, and a good grasp of Azure-based cloud platforms.

The Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Networking systems, and develop the tools used to make the networks super-fast and even more reliable.

You won’t just be a network engineer, but an inquisitive network scientist who can think logically and future proof all your ideas.

The successful candidate will monitor and design network links to optimize the internal system’s performance and carry out daily engineering tasks using varied software and hardware.

This rare opportunity will require the successful person to come into the London office 5 days a week, with flexibility around working hours.

Tech Stack: Azure, FortiGate, Fortinet, Cisco (CCNA), Palo Alto

Responsibilities:

• Designing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining networking systems
• Undertaking administration tasks concerning Firewalls and Vendor Switching to keep company processes up to date
• Building a wider networking team, acting as the team manager
• Communicating networking processes to non-technical audiences

The Candidate:

• 1 Degree from a Russell Group University and A-Levels at an A*/A/B Grade
• Buy-Side Finance/Hedge Fund Experience is preferable
• In-depth industry experience with layer 2 and layer 3 is essential
• Experience and knowledge of Azure is key
• London based (or a commutable distance to the office)
