National Key Account Manager

Remote£60,000 - £75,000Remote Permanent

Peaple Talent has partnered with a leading Energy company who are recruiting a driven and customer focussed national Key account manager on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of New Energies you will working closely with the commercial leadership teams across all subsidiaries. You’ll have a consultative sales approach with a focus on building strong relationships, developing and managing a large portfolio of national key accounts ensuring the continued growth as a trusted energy partner.

You will have an eye for identifying new business opportunities through consultative selling and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, working in collaboration with C-Suite level directors within the portfolio. You will deliver profitable market share growth, through the development of strong commercial propositions, excellent customer service and effective sales leadership.

Accountabilities and Key Competencies

  • Developing a deep understanding of the customer’s corporate priorities, energy needs, sustainability goals and craft an aligned value proposition.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor to the customer.
  • Provide account leadership for your portfolio of key accounts, serving as a liaison between business areas and subsidiaries.
  • Develop and define a clear account strategy that embraces the full portfolio with partners to position value propositions for our customers.
  • Identify new business opportunities by offering a consultative selling approach to cross-selling the full range of services available within the group.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by proactively addressing customer issues, managing expectations, and providing timely and effective solutions. Serving as the voice of the customer within the business.
  • Collaborate with the sales teams across all businesses to develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
  • Monitor and analyse key account metrics, such as pipeline, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction. Regularly highlight achievements, challenges, and opportunities, demonstrating our value as their energy partner.

Skills & experience

  • Significant sales experience with a deep understanding of strategic account management, customers and sales channels, with a demonstrable track record of growing business
  • Successful track-record influencing executives across a customer’s organisation, up to and including C-suite selling
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as negotiation and influencing skills in a matrix environment – both with internal organisations and within client organisations
  • Experience of delivering business growth through consultative selling
  • Ability to review and interpret financial statements and reports
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to screen and absorb information on various topics from multiple sources and synthesise it to make meaningful recommendations

Desired experience but not essential

  • An understanding of energy management and industry-specific problems & technology
  • This role would suit an individual with experience of selling solutions involving multiple products and/or across a group portfolio
