Battery Energy Storage Engineer
Salary: £32,682 – £38,300 (DOE)
Location: Bristol
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Battery Energy Storage Engineer to support the Rental team with the logistics, build, commissioning and operation of a growing hybrid fleet.
You’ll be the link between depot teams and customer sites — ensuring systems are set up correctly, supporting engineers, delivering training and keeping equipment performing safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with sales and rental teams to ensure correct specification and use of equipment
- Provide 2nd-line technical support to customers
- Attend project kick-off meetings and support with equipment specification
- Manage resources for the maintenance and upkeep of hybrid assets
- Take a hands-on approach installing systems and developing engineers’ skills
- Support depot teams with storage, maintenance and best practices
- Help allocate hire plant to meet customer requirements
- Monitor installations and provide feedback on performance
- Report lost/damaged equipment with appropriate documentation
- Promote excellent health & safety and comply with ISO standards
Essential:
- Knowledge of the generator/plant hire market
- Proven BESS / hybrid / energy storage experience
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight
- Full UK driving licence
- Customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building skills
- Understanding of electrical installations and load management
- Confident using Microsoft Office or similar
