Business Development Manager – B2B Energy (I&C Focus) – £70,00-£85,000 DOE (OTE £125,000)
An opportunity to join a growing B2B energy supplier specialising in electricity and gas contracts for large industrial and commercial customers. This role is central to expanding new business and long-term client relationships, with a focus on accounts consuming 25GWh+ annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire and manage high-consumption I&C energy accounts (electricity and gas).
- Lead complex tenders from initial enquiry through to contract acceptance.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships, focusing on retention and growth.
- Develop sales strategies targeting revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
- Identify new opportunities in markets, partnerships, and service offerings.
- Generate leads, conduct outreach, and arrange client meetings.
- Work closely with internal trading teams to shape competitive deal structures.
- Create and manage a target sales pipeline aligned with business goals.
- Deliver reporting on account performance, renewals, and growth potential.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in B2B energy sales, including fixed and flexible contracts.
- Strong understanding of the UK energy market and procurement processes.
- Confident communicator with strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on customer value and profitability.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence internal stakeholders.
- Skilled in presenting complex commercial solutions clearly and effectively.
