Business Development Manager – B2B Energy (I&C Focus) – £70,00-£85,000 DOE (OTE £125,000)

An opportunity to join a growing B2B energy supplier specialising in electricity and gas contracts for large industrial and commercial customers. This role is central to expanding new business and long-term client relationships, with a focus on accounts consuming 25GWh+ annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and manage high-consumption I&C energy accounts (electricity and gas).
  • Lead complex tenders from initial enquiry through to contract acceptance.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships, focusing on retention and growth.
  • Develop sales strategies targeting revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify new opportunities in markets, partnerships, and service offerings.
  • Generate leads, conduct outreach, and arrange client meetings.
  • Work closely with internal trading teams to shape competitive deal structures.
  • Create and manage a target sales pipeline aligned with business goals.
  • Deliver reporting on account performance, renewals, and growth potential.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in B2B energy sales, including fixed and flexible contracts.
  • Strong understanding of the UK energy market and procurement processes.
  • Confident communicator with strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on customer value and profitability.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence internal stakeholders.
  • Skilled in presenting complex commercial solutions clearly and effectively.
