Head of Data Systems and AI | National Homelessness Charity | Hybrid or Remote

I’m currently recruiting a Head of Data Systems and AI for a national charity with a clear and compelling mission: to end homelessness in the UK.

This is a brand new role, created to reflect the growing strategic importance of data and AI across the homelessness sector. The postholder will take ownership of a portfolio of live, sector-facing systems including a national workforce data hub, a strategic insights tool, and a Salesforce CRM, while also shaping how the wider homelessness sector understands and uses emerging technology. It’s a rare opportunity to bring genuine technical and strategic leadership to work that directly matters.

The role sits at senior level, reporting into the Deputy CEO. You’ll lead a small technical team, manage supplier relationships, and work closely with senior stakeholders to translate organisational strategy into practical delivery roadmaps. As much about influence and communication as it is about technical depth.

Key Skills

• Strong data systems and architecture capability across complex, multi-platform environments
• Excellent stakeholder management, able to advise senior leaders clearly and pragmatically
• Solid understanding of information governance, UK GDPR, and data ethics, particularly in contexts involving vulnerable individuals
• Practical experience with AI and automation tools, with the judgement to apply them responsibly

Necessary Experience

• 5+ years in data systems, analytics, or digital roles with demonstrable operational delivery responsibility
• High level Salesforce experience (certifications desirable)
• Experience managing budgets, suppliers, and cross-functional delivery
• Line management experience and a track record of developing technical teams

Hybrid with 2 days per week in central London, or fully remote. Salary £66,955 (pay review pending, scale to £73,993).
