We are now proudly a part of the Tech Talent Charter as a pledge to support diverse hiring practices throughout the industry. We want to explain a bit more about why we have joined the TTC and exactly what it means to us to be a part of it.
Women are still hugely underrepresented when it comes to tech. Preliminary data from the Harvey Nash Tech Survey 2021 shows that the gender diversity of UK technology leaders remains broadly unchanged from last year, with women representing just 10% in IT Professional and Leadership roles.
More than half (54%) of female tech professionals in the UK feel the industry is not doing enough; of that group, almost three times as many women in the UK strongly disagree the tech sector is doing enough.
This is why we have joined hundreds of other companies in pledging to address inequality in the UK technology sector and to drive inclusivity in a practical, measurable way.
For Peaple Talent, Tech Talent Charter isn’t just ticking a box, but we are actively aiming to make a difference and redress the balance.
We are now aiming to target the younger generation, destroy stereotypes, educate on tech careers, and bring a more diverse workforce to the tech industry. We will be sharing more about this initiative in the coming weeks, and we are excited about how we can make an impact.
If you’re a business owner that has tech roles within your organisation and you want to make the same commitment, join us and sign up to the Tech Talent Charter today to help ensure a future where diversity, inclusion and equality aren’t such radical notions after all.
