SETsquared Bristol’s #Idea2Pitch workshop is back to help early startups get pitch perfect

SETsquared Bristol’s next #Idea2Pitch workshop for tech entrepreneurs is on 15 June 2021.

#Idea2Pitch is a chance for novice entrepreneurs to explore the viability of a new business idea or an opportunity for early-stage companies to enhance and hone their skills before approaching investors.

This free event includes a workshop on what makes a good business idea and elevator pitch training from our award-winning incubator’s expert business advisors. To date #Idea2Pitch has helped over 100 startups to distil their business messaging into an impactful one-minute pitch and practice it with supportive peers.

Konstantina Psoma, Co-founder and CEO of Kaedim, a University of Bristol student startup that uses AI to create digital assets in less than 3 seconds, attended the #Idea2Pitch workshop in March 2020. Following the workshop, Konstantina won the University of Bristol’s New Enterprise Competition scooping £10,000 and a 12-month membership to SETsquared Bristol to work towards commercialising their product.

Plymouth to stage Clean Maritime Summit to discuss green economic growth

Plymouth is to host a Clean Maritime Summit attracting leading industry figures to discuss how achieving net-zero emissions can be a stimulus for economic growth.

Maritime UK South West, the leading UK ocean technology cluster, is planning the event for Friday, June 18, the day prior to the city hosting the inaugural Green Tech Boat Show.

MDL Marina’s boat show, dubbed the first of its kind in the UK, is scheduled to take place at Queen Anne’s Battery (QAB) between June 19 and 20. Companies have been lining up to exhibit at the event, which will highlight the latest in eco-friendly technology.

Bath business wins place on major European tech accelerator

Funded by the European Commission in association with EUREKA, InvestHorizon is a free four to six-month accelerator programme which attracts hundreds of applicants from all across Europe, Horizon2020 and EUREKA countries.

Five hundred of the most promising ‘deep tech’ businesses from across Europe are then chosen to be accelerated by the end of 2021.

As well as demonstrating commercial viability and strong growth potential, candidates in the competitive selection process for the InvestHorizon accelerator must meet its stringent ‘deep tech’ criteria.
