Network Engineer, £35,000, London

My client is a global professional services firm who have offices across the globe. An opportunity has become available for Network Engineer based out of their head office in central London. The right candidate should have commercial experience working in a similar role previously and the drive to progress within the business.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide advance networking knowledge to troubleshoot and isolate simple to complex applications or communication issues
• Provide support for a networking environment consisting of Cisco Routers, Switches, firewalls, Call Manager, Cisco Video Conference devices, Meraki Wireless Access Points and Switches
• Configure and provide administrative support for network monitoring tools like Solarwinds, Cisco DNA and Netbrain.
• Create and update documentation on operational procedures and network topology.
• Create change management requests that outlines the planned changes, a validated test plan, and rollback procedures in the event they are needed.
• Tests and evaluates networks systems to eliminate problems and make improvements in development, quality assurance, and production environments

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Intermediate level understanding of dynamic routing protocols BGP, iBGP and OSPF.
• Intermediate Cisco Voice and Video; Unity, Jabber, WebEx, SIP
• Intermediate working knowledge of networking components inclusive of applications layer firewall, F5 load balancers, routers, wireless access, switches and virtual private networking (VPN).
• High level of understanding and hands on experience in real-time network Troubleshooting

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS

• Network programming experience (Perl, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible)
